Ben Hysa, also known as Protek Bastard, was born and raised in a small seaside city in Montenegro called Ulcinj. He was never a musician, didn't play any instruments or attended any music course or academy but his first touch with electronic music was when he first heard a compilation from a NYC well known club Sound Factory back in 1999, and that’s when he was hooked.
After that he started exploring into these genres like Hard House, Euro House and Tribal Techno.Later on, as music styles concerned, Ben concentrates more on European kind of style (UK & Germany) such as Electro House & Techno and on artists such as Dj Antoine, Didier Sinclair, John Digweed and many more.
At the age of nineteen he moves to Serbia, enrolls into a college and decides to get away a little bit from mainstream sounds.And then, he starts exploring and participating parties with kind of more underground styles such as Minimal Techno & Progressive. By that time he gets his own dj gear and starts experimenting with those styles and starts recording various sets…
